Thanksgiving 2009

My Uncle Dan, Aunt Donna and cousins Kim & Ryan flew from California to Cody for Thanksgiving! I wish I would've had the forethought to take more pictures....anyway, it was so good to see them all! My girls loved their "second cousins" and had fun playing with cousin Emma too. Great to see our family, and catch up! Thanks for visiting us Kavanaughs! We love you!

More Thanksgiving pictures..Emma in her cute little red dress! She had adorable red shoes to match. We love our cousin!

By the way, I would like to "THANK" my uncle and my dad, for teaching my 4 year old to bang measuring cups on the counter, thus producing "music"....its music to my ears, let me tell you!! :)

And of course, Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete unless Dad fell asleep while watching football...

People Are Crazy....

For those of you wondering what is up with the new song selection...its Armand's new favorite song...when we are in the car, this one gets turned up loud!

Does make sense though, God IS great, Beer IS good (depending on what kind)...

As for people being crazy, who am I to say???

Halloween

Riley's preschool class had their Halloween party at school...what fun it was!

The Gratitude Challenge

So I was visiting one of my favorite blogs "This Week For Dinner" and came across this great idea...The Gratitude Challenge. World Gratitude Day is September 21st. Its so easy sometimes to focus on the things we resent or want to be different in our lives...and then we lose sight of the things that we should be so grateful for. I'm going to try this 21 day challenge...stay tuned to see how it goes!

Use the Alphabet to Make Note of What You're Grateful For:

Here goes....

A: A roof over my head
B: Beauty all around me, where I live
C: Career that I love
D: Dad who is a great friend & loves my kids
E: Enough money to provide a good life for my kids
F: Financial Stability
G: Girls, my two BEAUTIFUL girls
H: Husband who works hard & loves his family
I: innocence of my children
J: My brother John, who is a great guy
K: Kindness in my friends
L: Love of family & friends
M: Mom who is a great friend & loves my kids
N: Nurses that I work with who make my job easier
O: open spaces of Wyoming
P: people who you can meet and have an instant connection with
Q: quiet time alone
R: regrets that I have learned from
S: Sister-in-laws (I have two) that are great people & I'm glad to know
T:
U: understanding & flexibility of my employer when it comes to my kids
V:
W: weekends spent w/ family
X:
Y: youth is still on my side...

The Girls....

My mom came up to our house this weekend and took several pictures of the girls. Its so hard to get them to hold still AND look at the camera. But, she did manage to get a couple of good pictures....Thanks so much Mom!

Labor Day at My Parents' Property

Grandpa made a tree swing down at his property for "his three girls"...and they finally got to try it out. Riley loved it, and Sydney even gave it a try. They had such a blast that afternoon w/ their cousin and the rest of the family. Don't ask me why my oldest child is in a swim diaper & my youngest one is in big girl panties & somehow my niece always manages to be fully clothed! Is this a bad sign?

Labor Day 2009

"We did a lot of fun stuff today mom"...this is what Riley said. They went four-wheeling, they rode the tree swing, we had a picnic, and last but not least...they went out in the pond on an intertube w/ dad. It was a great day, and a fun time for the girls.

FLOWER POWER!

Riley loves to pick flowers around the house, most of them just wildflowers...she has a knack for finding them, as you can see. She insisted that she needed to take a picture of Sydney & me, so I told her I would put it on our blog, so everyone could see how good she is at taking photos. The flowers are sitting in our kitchen now...
