Alphabet Wreath!

Still looking for ways to entertain/teach/stimulate the little people in the house, b/c the weather is SO COLD! I bought this foam wreath at the dollar store, cheap entertainment! Then, took some alphabet beads from Riley's jewelry making kit, toothpicks & I wrote out lowercase alphabet letters on paper, cut them out. The kids then have to take the uppercase beads and match them to the lowercase letter cut out I wrote. Stick them in alphabetic order on the wreath, using a toothpick. They had fun, and they were learning at the same time. Win, win situation, just what we like!

Syd, happy as a lark making snow angels in the minimal amount of white stuff we have in the yard. Still, it was "SO FUN" according to her!

Cabin Fever!

Where is spring? Nothing like cabin fever...have to come up with ways to keep the small people in our house occupied. So, here was my idea (I did find this somewhere online). Two drops of liquid dishwashing soap in bowl, add a little water, give them a straw...turn 'em loose! Competition is on, who can blow the biggest bubble? This kept them occupied for quite awhile! I think Riley won...but I wouldn't tell Sydney that!

 

 

 

Antler Hunting with Dad

Riley was so excited to go hiking with her dad today. They walked about 3 miles, and she found her first antler...a 3 point deer. She was so excited that she found one on her own. I think she is hooked....apparently that is a genetic thing...so maybe she & dad have something they will both want to go do!

Love Juice!

The girls have to give each child in their preschool class a Valentine. We all love Valentines, but seriously...all the SUGAR! We wanted to do something that wasn't candy, but was still fun & good. I was up one night, surfing the craft blogs, when I came across this great idea from a mom w/ At Second Street blog. We made 24 of these valentine's. It was a great way for the girls to help make them too! They turned out really cute...they are excited to give them to their friends at school.
